I can certainly relate to your proffered food group -- all except the sticky, frosted, sickenly sweet and messy raised cake donuts shown. Give me instead the plain ones with coffee, or the blueberry, or whole wheat, or lightly glazed, or ..... YES! How about the old fashioned crullers?! Now there's a word never seen anymore, but it is surely more inviting than the presently used word "stick"! Just call me prejudiced toward donuts that LOOK like donuts!
