Buddy Takes a Road Trip

Buddy had a busy week. He hit the road on Monday for a bit of R&R in South Carolina. There's nothing like the feeling of the sun on your face and the wind in your hair, uh, fur. As the miles wore away, Buddy shed (tee hee) the stress of the past weeks - the trip to the vet, the enforced Barbie-free diet due to recent weight gain and an increase in "blond moments," and his ongoing responsibility to keep the cat in line.

After checking into the hotel, he rode the brass limo to his room, which was a bit of a rocky ride - Little Bubba navigated the thing right into the wall and Buddy nearly went overboard, TWICE. But he finally got settled and spent the rest of the day watching Bones, Dog the Bounty Hunter, and a remake of The Hound of the Baskervilles (who knew Max Headroom could act?). Buddy was in doggy heaven, relaxing on a luxuriant Queen-sized bed and gnawing on a rawhide bone.

Tuesday came with steady rain, so for a diversion Buddy hung out at PetSmart - not so fun if you don't care for other dogs...or cats...or chinchillas, hampsters, guinea pigs, gerbils or birds. So for a diversion from that, he slept the rest of the day.

After the 7-hour drive home on Wednesday, Buddy decided that vacations were overrated and, to quote a girl who had a "Buddy" of her own, there's no place like home!
