Senses & Sensibility, Part 3

What would we do without the sense of taste?

I know what I'd do.

I'd eat.

I know this because I've had this cursed cold for weeks, and for at least two of them I couldn't taste a thing, and I didn't lose any desire to eat.

And I couldn't settle for tasteless good-for-you food; I had to have the yummy not-so-good-for-you stuff.

Two weeks of rice cakes would have been a good thing.

Tonight my taste buds enjoyed a juicy pork chop with mashed sweet potatoes and bok choy. That was after eating too much junk at the movie theater. And that was after eating an egg sandwich so that I wouldn't be hungry at the theater.

Pitiful.

Tomorrow we're hoping to get snowed in. It'll only take an inch or two.

And it'll be a good day for Shepherd's Pie and hot cocoa and ...oh dear, there go my tastebuds again, trying to control me. I must master them!

You mean to tell us that you're wasting the tastiest food on tastebuds that can't taste it??? You bet you ought to be eating those tasteless rice cakes in times like this! LOL
