Don't You Just Want To Shop 'Til You Drop

Finally got all forty-'leven pictures of the thrift store's summer displays uploaded. Words will stay at a minimum, for I am losing my motivation and my tummy is full and my bed is calling...

Bringing all the stuff in after closing (impossible to do a display with customers nabbing everything before I can get it set up!):

Five minutes into the project (glad to have had the help of Carolyn, who set up the red, white and blue display):

Front left window (nearly 8pm):

Neat wagon lamp:

Collected lots of Raggedy Anns and Andys over the last two months:

Front right window (a kind of summer-Cape Cod-shabby theme):

Of course, everyone wants the armoir. In my own ornery way, I decided to annoy them all by deciding to keep it, for future displays.

This is a neat old house with a small bulb inside that makes the windows glow - I shrieked when I saw it in the warehouse. It would most likely have been thrown away (I have a long way to go in training our sorters)!

Loved this big old bucket, too:

Well, there you have it. Three hours of work that got ravaged in as much time. But that's the nature of thrift store ______ . . . rats, I was hoping to come up with another "th" word and I've got nuthin. That's my cue. Here I come, my lovely bed; I hear your lorelei-esque calls...

it would be fun to set up displays but then I wouldn't want anyone to touch them...love the little house with the lights.

You get amazing donations! Thanks to Beth for all the pick-up arrangements and thanks to you and your helpers for your untiring efforts to make the store special, it's not surprising it does so well!

Looking forward to a nice long chat soon. ooooxxxx

Yeah, that house is already gone...

It IS hard to see the stuff get moved around, much less taken right away! We tried, in one of our stores that had a big display window, to make a rule that the stuff couldn't be purchased from it for a week, and customers had a fit!

Looking forward to talking to you, Mom, too. xoxo back!

Hi Melanie! I did indeed make it to the thrift store this weekend and I had so much fun!!!!!!!!!!! A friend had given me her victory bucks. If you check out my weekly wrap up you will see a photo of part of what I bought. I was so tickled with the green dishes that I squeeled outloud making everyone look... I love Hall dishes. They cook fabulously and hold the heat so well! Anyway your display was awesome. Just beautiful! I am hoping a few things will still be there while I find some cash!
I am praying for Mike...meanwhile keep the stories coming..laughter is so good for the soul.

You're the classiest thrift store I think I've ever seen! I would LOVE to have an All American shop. I'd also love to show you our thrift shops here. You'd have a culture shock. Wendy's neice Gabby Huntress is with us, and I got the giggles at her culture shocks in church this morning.
The music was most definitely NOT Bojo.

Oh my I was just sharing your blog with a friend ( advertising for the thrift store) and I saw the beautiful mirror in one of the photos...I did not see it Saturday. I wonder if it has sold or I just missed it?!

Would love to attend the graduation but will be down the road at Geneva/Chesapeake trailer park. We do a dinner/worship/bible story/crafts and games for the kids every tuesday night.
We will be visiting the store soon. I am still looking for just the right stuff for the wedding. My computer is down. Using dds. So not checking stuff often. Tina
