Thursday: ...Ok, I'm out.

Sometimes rhyming comes so easy,
Sometimes all my lines are cheesy.

I usually rhyme when I feel lazy,
And blogging topics are too hazy.

Such is the case on this fine night;
I can't think of a thing to write!

So read the paper, watch TV,
Ride your bike, climb a tree.

Maybe in a day or two,
I'll have some stuff to say to you!

Now off to bed I go to dream
Of hawks and handsaws and ice cream.

I'm on a roll - can't seem to stop,
Hate to end with a belly flop.

But can't resist - my rhyming's crazy,
Gotta dance like Patrick Swayze.

Gotta get the last bit out,
Or I will burst - I have no doubt.

So here it comes, the last fine line
Of a rhyming nut who goes on and on in the tradition of the most excellent and unorthodox poet Ogden Nash and just doesn't have a clue as to when to resign.

"No more rhyming now, I mean it!"

"Anybody want a peanut?"

Name the origin of that quote in a comment, and I'll do a random drawing for a cool prize!

I'm happy to repeat that your peanut quote comes from The Princess Bride. The first line is by the annoying Vicini, the reply by Fezzik. (I hope spelling doesn't count!) Okay, now what's my prize????? Seriously, I've visited your blog before, and looked around a little. I love your title and your main pic! :-)
Here's another poem for you. . . Roses are red; violets are blue; most poems rhyme, but this one doesn't!

I'll leave a comment but I have no idea what you all are talking about. Nice rhyming, though. My favorite rhyming poet is Shel Silverstein.

Mrs. Aspirant, you'll need to rent "The Princess Bride" immediately! Pop some corn, and turn the TV way up so you don't miss any of the wacky dialogue, and next thing you know, you'll be quoting from it all the time! It's family-friendly, by the way; a classic - hilarious, adventurous and romantic. In the meantime, I'll check out Shel, whose name sounds kind of familiar.

Sorry, I didn't know the answer until your later blog with the Princess Bride clip in it! LOL

Which is sad, since The Princess Bride is my favorite movie of all time. (Just not that part of it...haha)
