Doohickeys and Thingamabobs

I've been chipping away at that craft project I started a week or two ago (a couple of posts below). After painting the board a bronze color, I decided to skip the grout idea and just glue stuff to the board with the background showing through.

First I experimented with placement of the doohickeys.

Then I stopped to eat supper.

Then I watched some TV.

Then I played on the computer.

A couple of days later, I started gluing. (Or is it glueing?) The board is one of those cheap tabletops, the three-legged kind.

About half of these thingamabobs are glued. I may do a bit of rearranging.

Before I got rolling with the red one, I cranked this next one out.

Glued sea glass to a painted board, then got ready to add grout. That's hand lotion that I'm rubbing on the mirror. I thought it might make a good barrier to stray drops of grout.

Fun with grout!

And...just about done (need to do a final polish on the pieces of glass).

Figure I'll make a couple more (next one with terra cotta colored grout, red and orange stones and copper colored wire), then tackle the task of trying to get them into a couple of local shops.

Yikes! A little scary. I am shy, you know.

Very cool, looks like fun, and at the end you have something pretty! I just haven't figured out what happened to the mirror from the 2nd to last shot to the last shot, where you have strips of something where the mirror used (?) to be. Or are those 2 different art pieces?

So-o-o-o beautiful. Wish I could see them in person!

B, that's a reflection in the mirror of what's above it - a big black multiple-print picture frame with 4x6 pictures tinted different colors. It is strange looking, now that I've really looked at it!
