You'd Think He Was Italian...

Wow - feels like I've been gone forever...I guess it's been about a week. Catching up is hard to do. Ummm...well, let's start with supper. If you buy Chicken-of-the-Sea pink salmon in the foil packet, there's a yummy recipe for salmon cakes on the back. I like to make it every now and then.

Got to use some more of my summer peppers - mixed with green onions, mayo, a couple squeezes of lemon, some seasoned salt and a dash of cayenne peppa.

Then I added some bread crumbs (see Kiki in the background? She's sporting a snazzy birthday collar and chowing down on salmon).

Together with the salmon, it makes a mooshy pile of this.

When formed into patties and dipped in more breadcrumbs and fried in BUTTER, it makes a most delectable meal. I especially like it over spaghetti squash, but I had to use real spaghetti (angel hair) tonight.

Before supper, I had a few moments to glue some thingamajigs on my latest mirror. Tomorrow I hope to smear gooey terra-cotta colored grout all over it.

We had a nice break in South Carolina this week. I helped my mom a little with some preparation for her upcoming yard sale, and Flutterbug helped her with a banner for her new Etsy shop, which will sell vintage sewing patterns. Check out her current shop, Banner Celebrations - she makes beautiful banners and decorative paper crafts.

We played with my brother's kiddos. My 4-year old nephew ran around with a little yellow candle, "bzzzzzzz" ing and stinging my arm with the wick.

"Oooh, is that a bee?" I asked.

He rolled his eyes. "No, it's a candle."

My sis-in-law told us an IKEA just opened in Charlotte. So we hopped on the highway Thursday morning to head home, and made the absolutely necessary pitstop.

We enjoyed a $1.99 breakfast to fill up the tanks, and started following the arrows on the floor.
Don't ever go to IKEA with a full bladder or ... ahem. Because if you have to go, you'll be trapped like a rat in a maze. By the time you zig zag your way back (after going full circle at least once, like I did), either it will be too late, or the urge will pass.

Thankfully it was the latter for me.

"Lighting" was one of our favorite departments. As a matter of fact, other than a duster on a stick, the only item we purchased was a cute little pink globe light for Flutterbug's room. Talk about self-discipline.

If you have a lot of time to spare, or are easily entertained, or just need help falling asleep, watch Mike, or rather, his hand, talking on the phone on I-85.

It's good to be home!

Hey. Was Pastor talking to Dusty in that clip?
