Chattanooga Ain't So Purty

We enjoyed more gorgeous countryside today, enhanced by the weird weather. Flutterbug snapped this pic outside our hotel window this morning.

This huge cross (and another an hour earlier) are along Highway 81 in Tennessee.

But Chattanooga is a different story. In fact, I'd have to say that it's, well, grungy. And Tennessee Temple U. sits in the middle of it, looking pretty shabby itself.

We may get an entirely different picture tomorrow. Appearances have been known to be deceiving! We have a busy day:

  • Arrive 9am
  • Class at 9:30
  • Chapel
  • Lunch
  • Meeting with Dr. Somebody
  • Tour

Flutterbug and I both forgot our flatirons (a top-ten recent invention, in my opinion) so we picked up another at Walmart, plus some dental floss for me so that I can get all the beef jerky from between my teeth. Beef jerky that I ate yesterday. I could probably live for several days off the amount that's stashed in my gums.

I was trying to stay low-carb on this trip. Got really hungry at one point and tried to eat a Slim Jim. I attempted to bite through the skin, which is disgusting enough, but when I looked at it after that, I noticed that some orangy stuff had oozed out the top and that did it. Chucked it and stayed hungry.

Mike got me some beef jerky at the next stop; I chewed away at that, spitting the toughest parts into the door pocket. I need to remember to throw that pile away later.

Then we stopped at Cracker Barrel for supper and the thought of eating any meat turned my stomach, and at the same time the thought of eating French toast thrilled my stomach.

My stomach ruled.

And that French toast was A.W.E.S.O.M.E.

So were the Frosted Flakes this morning, the chicken and stuffing and applesauce at lunch and the turkey club and fries tonight. Oh, and the 3 Musketeers bar.

Back on the wagon tomorrow - unless this hotel has Frosted Flakes, too . . .

This comes from a woman who has tried every diet imaginable....if you are doing the low carb thing you need to eat the veggies and fruit that has the lowest carbs...this will prevent the mind numbing eating that jumps on your back. I am doing the eating 100 calories every hour thing and what a huge difference. My sugar numbers dropped 150 points and my husband lost seven pounds in four days. Will tell more if you are interested. But get back on the wagon just add the good carbs in between all those moos.

Definitely interested! Sounds intriguing. I eat veggies more when at home; it's a little harder on the road, and I'm not a meat fan, and can only eat eggs and cheese in moderation. I have a feeling I won't be able to really get back into the swing until we're back home. So...fill me in on this new one!
